Honiton Town Reserves hit by late Otters goal in close cup tie

Honiton Town Reserves were edged out by the odd goal in three after extra-time when they visited Ottery St Mary for a Devon Intermediate Cup tie.

There were some notable individual performances from the Town players, none more so than Man of the Match winner Corey Couch who had driven from Cheltenham to play.

The Town goal was a Ken Brice penalty, just reward for a fine shift and Rhys Sellick once again played with real conviction and is showing himself to be a consistent player.

Brad Groves made a return from injury and was another to impress.

In terms of the match, it was a case of missed chances being the problem for Town who succumbed to a late winner, scored deep into extra-time.

On Saturday they return to league action and a home meeting with Otterton.
