Honiton Town’s three senior teams look set to have to play their final 41 matches of their respective campaigns in a period of seven weeks!

Honiton Town’s home South West Peninsula League (SWPL), Eastern Division game at home to Alphington on the second Saturday of March is amongst another swathe of matches in the SWPL to be lost to a waterlogged pitch.

It’s another blow for the Hippos, who were already looking at a congested run-in across their three senior sides.

None of the three Town senior sides were able to play on March 10 with the second teams game at Bampton and the third team visit to Otterton also being postponed.

With the Football Association looking to have leagues completed by the first weekend in May it means that there are now just eight Saturday’s left in the season running from March 17 through to the first Saturday in May (May 5).

It’s a period of 49 days in which time the three Town teams will now have to play 41 matches with no less than 29 of them being games to be played at Mountbatten Park.

The Town team break down of remaining matches is: 1st team - 11 to play with eight home and three away; 2nd team - 12 to play, 10 at home and two away; 3rd XI - 18 to play, 11 home and seven away.
