Honiton Town Under-10s had mixed fortunes in two meetings with Sidmouth Town opposition.

Unavailability and illness hit the Town camp and a reshuffle for the first game with Sidmouth Warriors saw regular midfield pairing Bailey Williams and Lewis Clyburn joining Harvey Haysom in defence. Warriors took a first half lead and sealed success with another after the break.

Ashton Beck and Peter Osborne worked hard throughout, but, try as the team did, they could not find a goal of their own.

Next up Town took on Sidmouth Raiders and Jess Spence joined Clyburn and Williams in a solid back line, but the Raiders got the better of them to take the lead.

That lead was held until late in the second half when, with two minutes remaining, the Honiton midfield broke up a Sidmouth attack and Ashton Beck took off with the ball at pace, shook off a couple of challenges and drilled the ball into the net!

Sidmouth were close to bagging a second, but there was still, time for another slick Honiton counter-attack which saw Haysom play a crisp pass to Beck who turned and rifled the ball home to seal a most dramatic victory.

Harvey Haysom was singled out by splendid referee Jerry White as the Honiton Player of the Day.
