Honiton suffered President’s Cup semi-final heartbreak when they were beaten by the narrowest of margins.

Normal time and extra-time could not determine a winner and so a penalty shoot-out took place which Sidmouth win 4-1 to book the final berth.

Honiton started well and it was somewhat against the run of play that Sidmouth took the lead. Parity was soon restored with Tom Olive providing the assist for a Blake Freemantle goal.

In the second half both sides found the others defence a difficult unit to breach!

The Honiton back line of Taylor, Knight and Ayres were outstanding. In extra-time Honiton were the stronger of the side, but that elusive goal would not come and so the match went to the shoot-out that saw Honiton suffer the heartache of a semi-final loss.

Matt Ayres was named the Honiton man of the Match.
