Axminster Town drew 1-1 at Budleigh Salterton in a midweek South West Peninsula League Eastern Division meeting.

In a typical derby contest much of the game was played out in the middle third with the two goals not arriving until the closing stages.

Budleigh struck first, netting in the 83rd minute, but five minutes later Jonny Hurford scored to endure both teams took something from the game.

The point lifts Town to fifth from bottom in the table having banked 10 points from their 11 games to date.

On Saturday the Tigers are at home to Liverton (3pm).
