At the recent, well supported annual general meeting of Millwey Rise FC, all officers put themselves up for re-election and were voted in en bloc, as were the committee members, writes Dick Sturch.

The club is in a sound administrative and financial position for the coming year which marks the 60th anniversary of the club’s formation.

The team management remains the same with Dan Murnane the first team manager with two assistants, Shane Featherstone and Chris Jones, while the reserve team will once again be led by Mark Enticott and Craig Mitchell.

Pre-season training commences at Cloakham Lawns on Saturday, June 30, with the first session running from 3pm to 4.45pm. All interested players are welcome to attend.

On Saturday, July 7, the club will be holding a signing on evening at Cloakham from 6pm to 8pm together with a few ‘goodies’ to go with it.

Again, all interested players are invited to join us to participate in our 60th year of football at Millwey Rise.

The club are currently looking for two kit sponsors for the coming season and would ask anyone interested to contact Dan Murnane at We’d love to hear from you to help us celebrate our 60th birthday.
