Millwey Rise Reserves serve up 'much improved' display

Millwey Rise Reserves were beaten 4-0 at home by Topsham Town Reserves in a Macron League Division Eight meeting, writes Dick Sturch.

After the previous week’s 10-0 battering at Topsham, Rise can feel pleased with the score line from this instant return fixture.

Honours were even after 30 minutes and the deadlock was only broken when Millwey’s Stuart King was off the pitch for some boot repair work! During his absence the visitors scored twice. They added a third before the interval but the only other time the home goal was breached was in the 89th minute!

The whole Millwey Rise team gave so much throughout the contest and all deserve high praise and the Man of the Match award went to Wayne Jenkins (sponsored by Aqua Heat).

On Saturday (November 3), the Rise second team travel across to East Devon for a game at Lympstone Reserves (2.15pm).
