Millwey Rise are to say goodbye to the Perry Street league and hello to the Fresha Devon and Exeter league, writes Dick Sturch.

The Cloakham Lawns outfit have spent the last 57 years as members of the Perry Street league, but last Friday, at the Fresha League Annual General Meeting, they were successful in their bid to join the league.

The club’s two senior teams will both start life in the league in the new season with the first team playing in Division Six and the reserves starting out in Division Nine.

There are certain to be some intriguing games for Millwey Rise. The teams that make up the Division Six are: Dunkeswell Rovers, East Budleigh, Exwick Village, Ilminster Town, Newton St Cyres, Railway Club, Silverton, South Zeal United, Stoke Hill, Whipton & Pinhoe, Winchester, Winkleigh and Woodbury.

The club’s second team will meet: Amory Green Rovers, Axminster Town, Exmouth Amateurs, Feniton, Honiton Town, Kentisbeare, Lapford, Newton Poppleford, Tedburn St Mary, Upottery and Witheridge.
