Millwey Rise had two teams in action at the Exeter and District Youth League finals held at the St James Park home of Exeter City.

The Under-9s and Under-10s were playing in their respective cup finals.

The younger of the teams battled well in a tough encounter with Sidmouth Warriors that saw them ultimately beaten 3-1.

Louis Newcombe netted the Millwey Rise goal.

However, there was better news for the Under-10s as they claimed a splendid 2-1 success over Whipton Youth thanks to goals from Ben Fox and Mason Doble.

It was a fantastic day for all those involved and a great achievement to the youth football club which, based on the current crop of players I its ranks, has a bright future ahead of it.

The two teams were supported by a large contingent of Millwey Rise followers.
