Millwey Rise were 5-0 winners when they travelled to Lyme Bantams for their latest Perry Street League outing, writes Dick Sturch.

The first half of this game saw play move from one end to the other. Both sides failing to capitalise on some good goal scoring opportunities. Nathan Hoole in the Millwey goal made a couple of outstanding saves to keep the Bantam`s at bay. Millwey opened the scoring but had the goal ruled offside, Then shortly after a luckless home defender put the ball into his own net to give them the lead. A few minutes before half time Mark Pike ran through the Lyme`s defence to slot home a well taken second.

After half time the game really belonged to Millwey. A Danny Larcombe dipping special from 25-yards out put them three up with Sam Dibling scoring the final two. The first of these rounded off an excellent passing display which originated from deep in the visitors half. The second was a typical Dibling clinical finish.

This was a good all round Millwey display which was again built on Stuart King`s rock like performance at the heart of their defence.

Hopefully the Christmas break will allow the current batch of injuries to mend allowing Millwey Rise to go into the remainder of the season with a full strength team.
