Millwey Rise Under-9s began their new Exeter and District Youth League season with a win double against Tiverton sides.

With some new signings to add to last year’s squad the team made a fine start in their match against Moors Hawks and it wasn’t long before Ben Fox opened the scoring with a fine goal after a good run down the wing.

Further goals followed from Man of the Match Owen Enticott (2), Tyler Dibling (2) Jacob England and Dylan Bebbington.

Next up against Twyford Spartans they made another bright start and took the lead with an Arron Conway goal. The Tiverton side responded well, but got little change out of the excellent Milwey Rise defence with Nathanial Giles-Jones and goal keeper Louis Cornick both impressive.

After the break, changes were made and Milwey took control adding three more goals through Man of the Match Tyler Dibling, Dylan Bebbington and Ben Fox.

Coach Sam Dibling said: “Well done to all involved. It was very pleasing to watch some excellent football being played and the good spirit between all the teams involved. A big well done to new players Frasier Dare, Leo Weir, Louis Cornick and Jade Flint. I must also mention the three players who helped us out from our paired Saturday morning team of Axminster Town Under-9s and thank you to Leo Weir, Jade Flint and Dylan Larcombe, the latter who had a great game in goal.”
