Offwell Rangers below-par and suffer heavy defeat to Whipton and Pinhoe

Offwell Rangers slipped to a 5-0 defeat at the hands of a powerful Whipton and Pinhoe side.

The Exeter-based outfit scored four goals in the first half.

They added just one more after the break, with the credit for that going to player-boss Scott Phillips who let his under-performing team know just what he felt of the first 45 minutes performance during the half-time interval.

In a much improved second half showing it was Steven Curry who was the stand-out individual.

However the Man of the Match award, as chosen by match sponsors The Windmill Garage, was goalkeeper Ben Kayes who’s heroics between the posts saved Rangers from an even heavier defeat!

Phillips said: “That was comfortably our hardest game of the season so far and it would seriously surprise me if they do not go on and win the title. That aside, it was the worst performance of our season and we didn’t give them a good a game as we should have done which is very frustrating after all the hard work put in at previous games. A changed formation produced a much more competitive second half showing from our lads.”
