Offwell Rangers were edged out by the odd goal in seven when they met Tivvy Park Rangers.

It proved to be a frustrating afternoon for all connected with Rangers as the side played exceptionally well against a team that sits top of the fledgling Fresha League Division Seven table.

Rangers began well and it was very much against the run of play when the Mid Devon side opened the scoring.

Parity was restored by a calmly executed finish by Dean Thomas.

Tivvy Park regained the lead and held it through to half-time.

After the break both sides scored twice with Thomas netting a second for Rangers who also scored thanks to a superb finish from skipper Steve Curry.

Thomas, cruelly denied a hat-trick when a goal-bound shot swerved onto the upright and away from danger, was named the Rangers Man of the Match.

The defeat means Rangers still seek a Fresha League Seven success after four games, three of which they have lost.

This Saturday (September 26) Rangers travel to Tiverton to face an Elmore Reserves side that has played one, and won one, in their early season league action.
