Offwell Rangers marched into the third round of the Geary Cup last Saturday.

Rangers were 5-2 winners over Chagford.

Player-manager Scott Phillips opened the scoring for his side and the lead was doubled by Dan Williams before a 25-yard strike from Craig Sluman that rifled its way into the back of the net!

The visitors gave themselves a life-line in the contest just before the break to go in just two goals down.

In the second half Rangers dominated possession and created chances almost at will! However, despite their dominance they could not find a fourth goal until Ernie Stobbs tucked a way a penalty. The final goal was scored by Dan Williams, his sixth in three games this season.

The match sponsor was the Heathfield Inn and they opted for Stephen Curry as the Man of the Match.

Boss Scott Phillips said: “I was delighted with the win, but some of our finishing left a lot to be desired. To get five was good, but I can’t help thinking we should, have had a lot more. That said the overall performance was much improved from the previous week and the shape of the side is now coming to fruition as players get used to the formation I am trying to play with.”
