Offwell Rangers Reserves 4, Hemyock 3

With the rain pelting down, and the field rather moist, Offwell Reserves made a winning start to then new season.

Offwell opened the scoring within 10 minutes with a thundering free kick taken by Michael Yeoman. Hemyock were quick to respond and Offwell conceded three goals in a 20 minute period.

Then hosts dug deep and found a response just before the break when James Henley scored after a goal line scramble. In the second half Offwell picked up the pace and were rewarded when Dan Taylor headed in an equaliser.

With 15 minutes to go, Rich Gardner drove a lovely ball goal bound which was tapped in by Vullnet Guri.

The last 15 minutes saw both teams having their chances, but no further goals were scored, leaving Offwell to take the glory with a 4-3 score line.

Manager Dane Spiller awarded Man of the Match to Dan Taylor for his non stop team work and his headed equaliser.
