The second Saturday of the month saw Axminster Town bank the points in their derby game at Budleigh while Upottery register the Macron League 'Result of the Day'. In rugby, Honiton RFC march on in their succesful season as they chalked up another home win
Axminster Town bagged a 12th win of the South West Peninsula League Eastern Division campaign when they won 4-2 at Budleigh Salterton.
A brace from Ash Small, who now has four games in just two starts for the Tigers since moving across to Tiger Way from Sidmouth Town, joint-manager Johnny Hurford and Ben Allen, took Town clear in second place in the table.
In the Macron Devon and Exeter League the result of the day was arguably the outstanding 5-2 win for Upottery at one time table-topping Colyton. Before the game, Colyton had suffered just one defeat in a dozen league outings, but the Glebe Park men gave boss Dan Prettejohn and early Christmas lift with a stunning performance in which their goals were scored by Sam Winslade (2), Blake Freemantle, Ryan Vickery and Jamie Girton. Beer Albion were leading 2-0 in their top flight meeting with Exmouth Town Reserves, but the match referee called an early halt to proceedings when the visiting side had a number of players dismissed. In another Premier Division game, Feniton went down 4-1 at home to Cronies.
In Division Three there was a 6-0 home defeat for Axmouth United, beaten by visiting Sandford.
In rugby, Honiton continued their winning ways with a 30-12 Allhallows success over Tavistock.
The Lacemen made a flying start and took a second minute lead with a Harry Wright try. A 5-0 lead quickly became a 10-0 lead after a James Coutts-Tucker. That was followed by an Ollie Cave penalty and a second Wright try for the Lacemen to hold a 18-0 half-time lead.
In the second half there were further home tries for Nathan Hannay – this the only try on the day that was converted with Ollie Cave sending the ball between the posts – and a 75th minute Jake Smith try rounded off the scoring.
