Seaton Town chase cup glory at Newtown on Saturday

Seaton Town were without a game on Saturday and so go fresh into this Saturday’s East Devon Senior Cup semi-final game at fellow Fresha League top flight side Newtown.

Josh Stunell, who has announced that this is his last campaign in charge of the Colyford Road side, has master-minded quite a recovery from his team who have won their last four games in succession and last suffered a defeat on January 19th when they went down 3-0 at home to Newtown in a league encounter.

The two sides are separated by a single point in the top flight table with the Exeter-based outfit sitting sixth and Town seventh.

Stunell says: “Since we met them (Newtown) in January we have found some form and so I fancy they will find a very different Seaton Town this time round. We have been playing some tidy football of late and I am keen for that to continue. If we can get through what is a tough cup tie, then we really could have a serious crack at lifting the trophy.”

Town then have two games over the Easter holiday weekend with a Saturday, March 30 local derby at Beer followed swiftly by a Bank Holiday Monday game at Morchard Bishop.

Stunell’s men will not be at home again until the April 13 visit of Morchard Bishop.
