Seaton Town ship seven in defeat at Topsham Town

Seaton Town suffered a 7-2 defeat at Topsham Town in the only Fresha League top flight game to beat the weekend weather.

That’s nine times in 17 league and cup outings this term that Seaton have shipped four or more goals and the number they have conceded this season now stands at 64.

In a generally disappointing season so far the Colyford Road side have won just two league games – both 2-0 victories against bottom side Budleigh Salterton, but they do also have a notable East Devon Senior Cup win to their name – an October 4, 1-0 home win over Exmouth Amateurs that has set up an all East Devon quarter final tie early next month when they go to Feniton.

There have also been four draws for Town, two of which have come against Elmore whilst they have also drawn at home with both Newtown and Hatherleigh.

Before that Town must continue their battle to avoid a bottom three finish in the Fresha League Premier Division. They are without a game this Saturday, but are back in league action the Saturday after (January 21) when they host Beer Albion before back-to-back meetings with Bow ACC. Those two matches with Bow are followed by that East Devon Senior Cup last eight tie at Acland Park on February 1.
