Seaton Town Under-12s edge nine-goal thriller at Colyton Cobras

A new look Seaton Town Under-14s emerged winners after a thrilling 9-goal thriller at Colyton Cobras.

Seaton took a fifth minute lead through Reece McCabe and a free-kick fro the halfway line taken by Rhys Philips sailed over everyone and into the net to make it 2-0.

Colyton pulled a goal back and were denied a second (and third) by terrific saves from Town glovesman William Hellier. Just before the break McCabe rifled the ball home to send Town in with a 3-1 lead.

Colyton struck first after the break, but McCabe swiftly restored the two-goal advantage, flicking the ball home at the near post to complete his hat-trick.

Colyton, to their credit, kept going and notched a third, but again the two-goal lead was swiftly restored, this time by a thunderous strike from Philips.

Colyton scored a late fourth after which Town held on to secure a thrilling win.

Matt Patmore and Will Bryant each scored a brace of goals for Cobras for whom Dan Krasucki was the star of the show with an outstanding performance in defence.

Cobras coach Jonathan Sweetland said: “We were not at our best and did not pass the ball as well as we can do. That said, Seaton played well and deserved to take the points.”
