Seaton Town Under-12s make fine start to new season

Seaton Town Under-12s have made a respectable start to their Exeter and District Youth League Division Two season with two wins and a defeat.

They began the campaign with a 5-1 win at newly promoted Broadclyst.

Both sides scored once before the break with William Hellier the Town scorer.

he teams were evenly matched in the first half scoring one goal each, Seaton’s goal scored by William Hellier.

However, Seaton completely lost their shape in the second half and conceded four goals to Broadclyst losing the match 5-1.

Next up they travelled to Crediton Youth to contest a preliminary round tie in the Under-12 League Cup.

Seaton played much better in this game and won the match 4-2 with Edward Kenworthy (2), Reece McCabe and Matthew Heron the scorers.

Last Saturday game three, another away fixture, saw Town face Heavitree Typhoons in Exeter.

William Hellier and Edward Kenworthy scored first half goals that sent their team into the break two goals to the good.

In the second half Seaton were excellent and Heavitree collapsed, Seaton scoring a further five goals.

Edward Kenworthy bagged three more, one a penalty to finish with a four goal haul and Reece McCabe also scored as Seaton won 7-0.

Assistant Manager Anthony Hellier said: “The team played very well in Exeter and looked every bit as good as they were last season”.
