Seaton Town Under-16s net 17 in County Cup win

Seaton Town Under-16s proved far too strong for visiting Kingsteignton Athletic in Sunday’s Devon County Cup meeting, beating them 17-1.

Town gave a debut to goalkeeper James Jobson and Joe Urquhart and, with Kyle Gould back to his best, Town were simply too hot to handle for the South Devon side.

An early goal from Lewis Cottam set the seal for a one-sided contest. Jacob Rowe and Tony Pinder seized control of the midfield and the goals followed at regular intervals with nine scored by half-time.

Eleven more arrived after the break. Urquhart and Cottam each finished with four goal hauls whilst Max Richardson netted a hat-trick. The other scorers were Rowe (2), Gould (2), Ollie Binnion and Pinder. Pete Smith was named the Seaton Man of the Match. The contest was well officiated by Bryan Perryman and Seaton are back in action this coming Saturday (September 20) with a league game at Witheridge.

New players will always be made welcome at the club. Anyone interested can learn more from boss Andrew Franklin on 07968 688256.
