Seaton Under-10s enjoy double delight

Seaton Under-10s completed their programme up to the festive break with success against Millwey Rise Eagles and Falcons.

First up was a very tight game against the Eagles. Henry Matthews poked Seaton ahead after a thumping drive from Harvey Green had rattled the crossbar. The Eagles struck back before Leo Gribble’s driving run and persistence was rewarded, as the ball fell kindly at his feet from a few yards out and he made no mistake. However, the game was still far from over, and only a wonderful save from Kieran Jaycock kept Seaton ahead. Jaycock reacted to a bullet drive from the edge of the box that was destined for the top corner, but somehow he managed to get a glove on it and tip it over.

The game finished 2-1 to Seaton and that save was the difference!

Next up were the Falcons, who despite being a younger team, gave Seaton all kinds of problems as they raced into an early lead.

Seaton struck back through Henry Matthews and Aaron Hale to take a slim 2-1 lead at half-time. However, Christian Pinnock came on in the second half and stole the show scoring four unanswered goals - on this form he was unstoppable! Defenders Daniel Byrne and Eric McLennan caught the eye with some calm work.

Seaton coach Alan hale said: “Both games were a great advert for youth football, played in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with the focus on kids enjoying their football.”
