Spence and Freemantle net trebles as Honiton Town Under-11s win well at Lympstone

Honiton Town Under-11’s returned to league action when they travelled to Lympstone on Saturday.

Despite not having played since December 21, and with the weather making recent training difficult, Honiton hit the ground running and took the game to the hosts from the kick-off.

Their hard work paid off after 10 minutes when a slip from a defender allowed Caleb Freemantle to run through and open the scoring. Honiton continued to press and an excellent first half display saw Freemantle complete a hat-trick which, along with two Ben Spence goals, saw them lead 5-0 at the break.

The second period saw them lose some composure, but they managed to restrict Lympstone to a pair of consolation goals. Honiton matched them with two goals of their own, the first a penalty which saw Spence grab the team’s second hat-trick plus a good strike from Arron Stevens.

Honiton can be pleased with this performance and to win 7-2 against a side who beat them 5-4 in the home fixture earlier in the season, shows how they continue to progress.
