Honiton Town slipped to a 2-0 defeat when they travelled to North Devon to meet Ilfracombe Town.

It was goals late in both halves that sent Town to defeat and ending on the losing side was particularly tough on Hippos’ goalkeeper Rowan Symonds, who had a fine game.

It was not all one-way either, for Town had their moments and, on another day, Lewis Couch, Tom Perryman and Aaron Doble might have been on the score sheet.

The two teams meet again on Good Friday when the clash at Mountbatten Park is part of the SWPL Groundhop.

The game kicks off at 3pm and, with over 125 tickets already sold to ‘Groundhoppers’, Town can expect a large crowd for the game.

Before that Good Friday game, the Hippos also have a ‘tasty looking’ home game this coming Saturday (March 24) when the visitors are table-topping and title-chasing St Martins (3pm).
