Upottery claimed an eighth victory in ten Fresha League Division Three games and moved four points clear at the top with another slick all-round show.

In an even first half the villagers held just a 2-1 half-time advantage, but once Mark Tucker fired them into a 3-1 lead early in the second half the outcome was never in doubt.

Tucker scored twice and was later named the JP Logging Man of the Match.

The other scorers were Steve Morris, Sam Winslade and Steve Pepperell.

The pick of the goals was the one scored as the result of an astute substitution made by villagers boss Dan Prettejohn who send Adam Retter into the action from the bench. Retter got away down the flank and crossed sweetly for Sam Winslade to score with a rare header!

Prettejohn said: “We were good all over. The first half was close in terms of the score line, but I always felt confident and knew it was just a case of us keeping at

it after the break.”

On Saturday Prettejohn travel to fourth bottom Chulmleigh.
