Upottery were 6-2 victors when they took on Newton Poppleford in a midweek Golesworthy Cup quarter-final tie.

The Glebe Park men made a bright start and took early control, scoring three times in the opening 30 minutes with teenager Cody Tratt-Skinner bagging a brace and Brad Morris netting the other.

However, the Popples hit back with goals either side of half-time to leave Upottery just a single goal ahead early in the second half.

Upottery though, were not to be denied and a Matt Frost header followed by goals from Harry Leisk and Owen McCreadie-Taylor, sealed a superb 6-2 success and netted Upottery a last four berth in this season’s Golesworthy Cup.
