Goals from Sam Winslade and Brad Spiller gave the villagers all three points in an entertaining Fresha League Division Three encounter.

The opening goal owed much to the approach play of Ollie Rice who got away down the left and crossed for Winslade to thump the ball home.

Upottery held the lead through to half-time, but the visitors restored parity in the 75th minute. It did not take long for the lead to be restored when another left wing raid ended with Spiller controlling the ball before thumping it home.

There were good performances from Aaron Doble and Danny Symons. Upottery boss Dan Prettejohn said: “That was much more like our old selves. We controlled large periods of the contest and were good value for the win. The game plan between now and the end of the season is to begin to build a side for the next campaign. Promotion looks beyond us now, unless they promote more than three clubs.”
