Upottery see off Wodbury as fine home start continues

The final Saturday of August proved a good one for Upottery as they secured a 3-1 win over Woodbury in Fresha League Division Three.

That’s two home wins for Dan Prettejohn’s team with the one away defeat, a 2-0 reversal at the hands of Hemyock last midweek. On Saturday Upottery entertain Chulmleigh in a Bill Slee Cup tie.

Feniton thumped Clyst Valley 8-1 in another midweek encounter to get their Fresha League Premier Division title defence off to the best possible start.

The Blues were without a game on Saturday, but are in action this weekend with an East Devon Senior Cup 2nd round tie at Acland Park against Wellington.

Dunkeswell Rovers went down 4-1 to Amory Park in a Division Five game at the weekend and this Saturday the Dunks entertain Starcross Generals in a Football Express Cup tie.

Awliscombe shared four goals with visiting Newtown and also in Division Four Axmouth United beat Hatherleigh Town 4-1. On Saturday the Awls entertain Okehampton Argyle in the Bill Slee Cup whilst Axmouth United have a league game at home to Sandford.
