Seaton Under-16s were 4-3 winners on their first ever visit to Witheridge for an Exeter and District Youth League match.

In a good opening to the game the teams looked evenly matched, but the hosts struck first. Parity was swiftly restored with Joe Urquhart the scorer. Back came the home side to lead 2-1 at the interval.

After the break Ollie Binion, Jamie Tait and Pete Smith combined well in the Seaton rearguard to deny time and space to the lively home forwards. At the other end Urquhart escaped his marker to level things up at 2-2.

It was influential skipper Cameron Gould who drove his team forward and he fired Seaton into the lead for the first time in the game.

Witheridge were clearly stung and they scored next to make it 3-3. Seaton were not to be denied and, with good build up play involving Tony Pinder, Lewis Cottam and Kyle Gould, it was no surprise when Urquhart netted his hat-trick goal to seal a superb victory.

James Jobson had a fine game in the Seaton goal, saving a penalty and the Man of the Match award went to James Jobson. On Saturday Seaton entertain Kentisbeare (10.30am).
