Axminster Town 5, University of Exeter 1

Axminster Town are one of just four teams to be still unbeaten after the opening two weeks of the South West Peninsula League, Eastern Division season.

The Tigers were 5-1 home winners over University of Exeter in a game that saw Luke Ashford emerges as the star man.

Ben Vine netted a brace, his first on the half hour and the Tigers took a 2-0 lead into the break courtesy of Tom Perryman.

The students halved the deficit shortly after the re-start. However, the two goal margin was restored when Alex Wheatley rifled in a free-kick and it was soon 4-1 after Sam Dibling had stuck his first of the new campaign.

Vine finished what he started with his second to cap a superb afternoon for the Sector Lane faithful.
