The Fishermen bagged an impressive second top flight success of the season and, as a result, have climbed above great rivals Seaton Town in the fledgling Fresha League Premier Division table.

Adam Wakeley was the star of the show with a brace of goals.

Wakeley, who is a soldier, will now be unavailable to Albion for the next seven weeks.

Based on his contribution in this game the Fishermen will miss him! Chris Long, Jamie Trewick and Pedro Fontes scored the other Beer goals.

Boss Phil Crabb said: “It was a masterful performance from Adam (Wakeley). He was the difference on the day. It was an intriguing game. Both sides had chances before the break with the big difference being we took our and they missed theirs! At 4-1 and even 4-2 I felt very confident, but their third caused a worry or three so I was relieved when our fifth from Jamie Trewick went in to kill them off.”

Next up the visit of table topping Heavitree Social United.

Crabb says: “I want us to be making it a case of fortress Furzebrake again this season, but the Heavies are a good side and we’ll need to be at our best.”
