Wards stars as Honiton Under-12 suffer heavy defeat

Honiton Youth Under-12s were beaten 7-0 when they travelled to Exeter to meet City Raiders Galaxy.

With several players unavailable, Honiton were only able to show sporadic glimpses of their best form and scoring chances were few and far between; throughout.

The nearest they came to scoring was when Matthew Ward broke through only to be denied by a fine last-ditch tackle.

Honiton skipper Ward did his best to inspire the team but it just wasn’t to be on the day, his efforts were joined by stand-in keeper, Will Whitworth, who made several flying saves to limit the damage. On Saturday Honiton entertain City Raiders.
