Upottery put Crescent to the sword, beating the Exeter visitors 6-0.

Sam Winslade was the star of the show. The 16-year-old, called up as a direct replacement for the midweek departure Catalan Pislaru who has moved to Sidbury United, scored a superb hat-trick.

Goals from Ben Wilmott and Winslade put the villagers two up at the break. In the second half they took complete control with Winslade getting two more to complete his treble whilst Wilmot got another and skipper Mark Tucker rifled one in to complete the rout.

Boss Dan Prettejohn said: “We actually did not start very well and I was concerned about our early sluggishness, but, once we netted our first we grew in confidence and were most worthy winners come full time. Young Sam certainly seized his chance. He literally grabbed the number nine shirt and stamped his name all over it, it was superb performance from the young lad.”

Next up for Upottery is a home game against South Zeal of which Prettejohn says: “More of the same will keep the manager very happy!”
