Upottery 1, Bickleigh 3

Upottery’s hopes of a top four finish suffered at the hands of the title chasing visitors.

Dan Prettejohn’s side had gone into the game without half their regular side owing to a wedding and played exceptionally well to lead at the break through a Sam Winslade goal.

They were undone by two early second half goals and the Mid Devon visitors struck a third late on.

Dave Sawyer and Richard Pring were outstanding at the back for the villagers.

Prettejohn said: “No complaints as we were always going to be up against it. They (Bickleigh) are a good side and we matched them for the entire first half and then for much of the second. We are not throwing the towel, in yet on a top four finish.”

Upottery now face back to back games with Winkleigh.

They travel to meet the North Devon side this coming Saturday.
