After seven years of ultra running for Great Britain Heather Foundling Hawker had a sprint round the Edinburgh Marathon.

At a mere 26 miles, Heather completed in 03-42-13, 1554th place, and raised money for Hospiscare.

She recently came fourth in the Swiss national 24 hour race in Basel, running 110 miles nonstop as part of the GB team, retiring after 21 hours. She would like to thank Otter Vale Rotary Club for their financial help towards the trip.

conditions varied from 36 degrees at midday to thunderstorms and six degrees overnight.

In the seven years of team running, Heather has won three gold, two silvers and a bronze medal. She has competed at three different world championships in three different disciplines and distances; 50km European champion 2005, world’s best time,100km Seoul in South Korea 2006, and world trail in Connemara Ireland 2011
