A large field at Honiton enjoyed the sunshine and played a team stableford competition, two best scores to count, writes Andy Wagner.

The winners, with a score of 88 points were Stephanie and Bob Barnes, Cherry Liell and club captain Dave Morgan.

In second place with a score of 85 points after count back was called into play, were Ann Trayling, Olwen Eaton, club vice captain Ron Graham and Jason Gosling.

Third place went to Dot Grove, Carole Booth, Robert Hendrick and John Pugh who also finished with 85 points.

The lady vice captain Elizabeth Davies presented the prizes.

On Sunday, Honiton played a friendly mixed match at home against East Devon organised by Jan and John Dickinson.

Honiton were ultimately edged out four-and-a-half to five-and-a-half. These matches are always played in good spirit followed by a meal.
