Honiton Town Youth Under-13s bagged a fifth win of the Exeter and District League Under-13 Division Three season with a 9-2 win over visiting City Raiders.

Town made a bright start and took the game straight to the visitors. Their early endeavours paid dividends with Jack Hawker getting away down the wing and crossing for Caleb Freemantle to net an early goal.

Laura-Beth Outram soon doubled their advantage with a powerful 20-yard drive and the home side added three more by half-time, with Freemantle completing a hat-trick, either side of an exquisite lobbed shot from Hawker.

Town lost some shape and concentration immediately after the break and allowed the visitors to grab a goal back straight from a corner. However, they roused themselves and again took control through goals from Dominic McCreadie-Taylor, Max Salter, Luke Matthews and Freemantle’s fourth. The final action saw Raiders net a further consolation with a penalty.

Coach Stuart Ward said: “All-in-all this was a good all-round performance, with the highlight being five of the goals coming via strikes from outside the penalty area.”
