Honiton Youth Under 15s shared six goals with visiting Dawlish United when the sides met at St Ritas for an Exeter and District Youth League meeting.

Honiton impressed in the early exchanges, but it was the visiting side that struck first. Honiton quickly restored parity when Caleb Freemantle sent a dipping shot over the keeper from the edge of the box. However, Dawlish struck again to hold a 2-1 lead at the interval.

The scores were levelled for the second time shortly after the restart when an unfortunate Dawlish defender turned a cross from the left past his own glovesman!

Once more the visitors edged ahead, clinically punishing an error in the home defence, but Honiton were not to be denied and it was no more than they deserved when Kai Freestone rose to head home Dominic McCreadie-Taylor’s last minute corner.

Freestone in particular deserved his goal, as, on another day, he could easily have had a hat-trick, for he was denied a certain goal by a brilliant defensive clearance and another ‘goal’ was denied by the depth of the crossbar!
