Following two encouraging weekends of hockey, Honiton went into this weekend's game on a high, but knowing that it could be a particularly difficult game since the visitors are currently top of League Channel 2B. So it proved, the visitors topping and tailing the scoring in the first half!

They opened the scoring, having given the home side defence much to keep them occupied throughout the first 15 minutes.

Five minutes later it was Honiton's turn to put pressure on the South Devon side's goal and this resulted in a goal from Becky Bond, standing close to the Newton post, who was able to connect neatly with the ball coming across the circle.

Unfortunately for the home side, just before the half time whistle, the visitors put themselves one goal up.

Continuing to play good competitive team hockey in the second half, Honiton had rather more of the game in the Newton half of the pitch. Although they did put pressure on the goalkeeper, no score resulted, but there were two at the other end - despite the gallant efforts of Sue Stone, the goalie.
