Harry Moore ran in the Great West 5k multi-terrain race finishing 68th in 39:17. Once again he was the over-70 champion. Well done Harry! It was good to see an old friend of AVR, Lucy Owen, finish second in 21:39.Sunday's Great West Run Half Marathon at Exeter saw Roger Bramley put in a sterling performance to finish 228th out of 2048 entrants in 1:40:18. Chris Keeffe was only just behind, finishing 245th in 1:40:56. In a rare race appearance, Dave Braunton finished 1347th in 2:08:17.l If you would like to run in a superb local multi-terrain 10k race, then next Sunday's Umborne Ug will fit the bill perfectly. You must be at least 16 years old to enter the 10k and you will be taken through some of the most beautiful scenery in East Devon. It is a run rather than a race, although positions and times will be taken and recorded on the AVR website. There will be some marshals on the course, a water station at the half way point and cakes and hot and cold drinks afterwards. Starting at 11am, there is no entry fee, but any donations for the run or the food and drinks will go towards the new village hall fund. There is also a 21/2 mile fun run for all ages and a five mile walk starting at 10am. For more info check out http://www.axevalleyrunners.org.uk/races/index.htm
