Gold medal haul for Honiton gymnasts
Three partnerships from Honiton Gym Club got the acrobatic gymnastics season off to a flying start by securing their place in the national development plan finals.
Each duo won gold in their category in the south west prelims.
Charlotte Beviss, 9, a pupil at Honiton Primary, was in sparkling form. She took the top spot in the grade 3 girls’ pair event with 14-year-old partner Megan Moore (a pupil at Honiton Community College), and triumphed in the grade 2 mixed pair event with 12-year-old partner Buster Tutcher, a pupil at The Woodroffe School in Lyme Regis.
Also taking the gold medal in their category was the partnership of Emily Bristol and Josh Cox, who won the Grade 1 mixed pair title.
All three partnerships go through to the national finals in Stoke on Trent in May, when they will compete against the champions from other regions across the UK.
