The club held its annual awards ceremony this week where all the year's Club Trophy winners were honoured and their trophies presented formally.

The winners names will appear in the New Year on the honours boards that decorate the walls of the clubhouse.

The night celebrated golfers from the very young to the very .... practised but, aside from the recognition given to club champion James Drew, probably the most impressive trophies were those won at county level and none more so than Max Pipe’s winning of the Andrew Trophy at the Devon Captains competition.

Tuesday Mixed: This week a large field enjoyed the wonderful autumn sunshine to play a team Stableford - two scores to count competition. Continuing their good form again this week - not in competition with each other but playing in the same team - Jennifer and Richard Pyle, playing with lady captain Sue and Paul Ritchie took first place with 83pts. Second were Hilda and Brian Hoepelman with Jane and Mike Watts with 77pts.

?The Ladies’ Section held their annual coffee morning on Wednesday, preceded by 34 guests plus Honiton ladies playing 10 holes of golf.

Lesley Farley was the resounding winner of the putting competition with a staggering score of 19, and the magnificent Christmas hamper was won by Shirley Lewis, also of Honiton.

Seniors Section: The priority in this weeks Stableford competition was less about winning but more on improving the eclectic score. Vic Wood did himself no harm with 11 pars to record a gross 76 and 40points, taking first place in Division One but giving himself a hard task to improve. The ever present Andy Sharland was second with 38 points just edging out Jim Wallis on count back. Pat Purtell 36 and Stan Squire 34 completed the prize positions.

Not to be outdone Norman Runciman stormed round with 42 points to win Division Two ahead of John Vessey with 40 points, both being deducted two shots from their handicap for their trouble. Peter Blake, Bob Underwood and Rob Canterbury all came in with 37 points with the back 9 deciding their positions. Only two "2s" were recorded giving Paul Ritchie and Derek Herrington a massive 39 balls each. Having won 27 balls last week Paul may be seen in Honiton market soon.

Lyme ladies played a Stableford for Christmas Draw tickets on a wet course in bright conditions but with an increasingly strong wind which affected the flight of the ball, writes Ellie Langford.

Gilly Madill got off to a shaky start, but improved after each hole until on the 18th, after a good drive she put her second shot on the green and holed the next for a birdie. Her final score was 40 pts.
