In the Evening League West Hill gained a good 6-2 win away from home, easing them to the mid-table position.
In the second division, Upottery were also 6-2 winners, with home advantage, to keep their top of the table place. Membury won twice at home, 6-2 each time, and the resulting 4 points, plus the overall 61 shot advantage, moved them up to second place.
In the Afternoon League Upottery's one point from their home game with Sidbury was enough to take them to second place, just one shot ahead of third. Lyme Regis won their first game of the season, 5-3 at home, to move up to 7th place.
In the second division the home derby matches saw Chard 'B', 7-1, and Seaton Cliff 'A', 5-3, gaining the advantage over fellow club members. The second half of the season should see a close finish involving these two teams and Chard 'A'. Chard 'B' presently hold a two point advantage, but have played one more game. If any of these three stumble Combe St Nicholas are poised just behind, this week winning 6-2 with a 60 shot advantage.
The Pairs tournament this year will be held on Saturday, February 28, at Cloakham. The invitations will go out this weekend so should be with your club contact during the week. This event has been held in its current format for three years, and previous participants say they enjoyed the day. If you have been before we hope to welcome you back. If not, do talk to those who have. I hope they will convince you it is worth coming and we would look forward to welcoming you.
