Honiton Devils Under-11s were edged out by in-form CS Pumas in what was a thrilling contest, writes Dominic McCredie-Taylor and Ewan Evans.
Both sides started brightly, but Pumas scored first, albeit with an element of good fortune. Devils, with River Leisk and Ewan Evans looking solid at the back were soon level when a fine cross from Connor Brown was tucked away by Hayden Owen. However, the Mid Devon side regained the lead with a well-crafted goal. The Devils were never ‘out of the contest’ and, with Joe Evans giving a terrific display, they came close to equalising only to concede a late third.
The devils’ Man of the Match award went to Ewan Evans for his fine shift at the heart of the Devils’ defence.
