Honiton Hawks Under-8s produced their best form to date this season when they visited Sidmouth, winning both the matches they played.
Hawks travelled with a squad of 10; Arran Hansford, Evan Lowman, Freddie Dickason, Harry Evans, Harry Haysom, Kyle Moore, Luke Devin, Taylor Prettejohn, Torin Brunskill and Zac Isaac, and played 7-a-side with rolling substitutions.
The first game saw Hawks win by 10 tries to five. Harry Evans took the scoring honours with a hat-trick and there were two each for Harry Haysom and Taylor Prettejohn with single tries scored by Freddie Dickason, Kyle Moore and Zac Isaac.
Hawks then won the second game 9-2 with Evans bagging a second hat-trick. There were two tires for Arran Hansford, Freddie Dickason and Kyle Moore.
A Hawks coach said: “The most pleasing thing for the coaches was the quality of the boy’s tagging in defence where they won the ball back by grabbing seven of the opposition tags on numerous occasions.”
