Fourteen members of Lyme AC turned out to fish the second Saturday league match of the year, at Lyme Regis.

Anglers were fishing for the Best Specimen. The sea was flat calm, but temperatures dropped as low as -6C which caused anglers’ bait to freeze.

There were anglers fishing from the main beach, The Cobb and past the Power Boat Club on Monmouth Beach. Ryan Turner who was only able to fish half the match won with a new club record, three beard rockling of 374g, which fell to half a mackerel fillet on a pulley rig. Second went to new club member, Ray Chich, with a flounder of 534g caught from the end of The Cobb. Third place went to Darren Herbert with a pouting of 243g.

There were also five beard and shore rockling, scorpion fish and a plaice weighed in.
