SEATON and Honiton bowler Julie Grant, current president of the Devon County Ladies' Bowling Association, has qualified for the ladies' four wood singles in Leamington Spa.The final was held at Sidmouth. Julie Grant played three rounds and will now play in the Women's National Singles Four Wood Competition representing Devon. Seaton's bowls correspondent Jenny Wilde said: "This is a magnificent achievement, especially as Julie is president of the DCLBA and has had so many functions to attend regarding this position. She has also found time to support her home club Seaton, and also managed to play in various county and club competitions. "She deserves the highest accolade we can give her, as this proves that her tenacity, loyalty and dedication to bowls is second to none. "Hopefully several members from Seaton will be able to go to Leamington to support her, as this venue is where all bowlers dream of playing well enough to go and represent their county."This is the first time a DCLBA President has got this far during their term of office and to represent Devon at Leamington.
