They started well and their efforts were rewarded with a goal from Kieran McCann. Exmouth, not to be out-played, got one back, which was the pattern of the first half. Billy Long scored the second, Exmouth equalised. Good football was played by both sides, but Colyton went into the break with a two goal advantage, Becky Griffiths and Finlay McLean having scored.

In the second half, Colyton took more control, with hard-working Finlay McLean dominating the midfield and his excellent game was capped with his second goal. Exmouth managed to pull one back, finally Jack Farrant, who also played well, managed to get onto the score sheet with Colyton's sixth.

Keeper James Overton gave a confident performance, Logan Black controlled the defence, Greg Lamprill worked well in the midfield and George Carter was unlucky not to score.

l The newly formed Feniton Flames under-10s football team fought bravely at Anning Road, away to a well-drilled Lyme Regis, last season's league champions, writes Joe Daly.

In spite of the valiant efforts of Andrew Mortimer and Henry Mutter in goal, the Flames were unable to stave off the final attack from Lyme Regis just two minutes from the final whistle.

Fine strikes for George Kimber and Henry Mutter ended the game in a very credible 4-3 to the home team. As well as the scorers, Albert Southall-Brown led the side out, ahead of Will Daly, Andrew Mortimer, Kyle Hartnell, Hayden Dyer, Charlie Olive and Jack Ellison. The Flames meet Honiton at home at Acland Park next Sunday.

With Axminster pressing forward at every opportunity and slight lapses in concentration from Colyton, Axminster pulled back two goals in the second half to make the score line 3-2. Colyton then got back on track, playing some great football and their final goal was scored by Charlie Stephenson with a great header.

l Colyton under-9s first game against Feniton proved tough, however, with the score tied at 2-2 Feniton scored a great third goal to win the match. Colyton hit the post four times with great strikes from Elliot Driver, Sam Broom and Josh Kilby, but it wasn't their day. It was great match to watch.
