Chard Swimming Club held their fourth club gala of the year at Flamingo Pool in Axminster last week, writes Hannah Pullinger.

Swimmers ranging from 7 to 16 year old took part. Some excellent swims at the Gala secured a Silver Speed badge for Lauren Real, swimming under 36 seconds in the 50 free for the first time, and a new 14 and under Club Record for Tessa Down in the 100m Individual Medley. Swimmers achieving three Gold medal positions in their events were Hannah Pullinger (Open), Tessa Down (13/14 years) and Ryan Adair (10 years). In the 8 and under events, Millie Kendall won both the girls’ 25m events, and Joe Shrubb did the same in the boys’ events.

Meanwhile, Swimmers of the Month Awards for progress points achieved during the year were presented to Jake Hallam and Abigail Dare - pictured above.
