Green wins boy’s Beer Blazer race

Despite the unseasonal mists blocking out the Jurassic coast views there was a fantastic number of entries in the Beer Blazer series of races, writes Dave Mutter.
The one-mile children’s run attracted a record 80 entries, all spurred on by eager relatives.
The Boys winner was Harvey Green with Josh Comer, second, and Sam Eyre, third.
Hattie Trumlett won the girls race followed by Innis Fitzgerald and Alice Clarke. Oliver Rodger was the victor in the male 5k race, finishing ahead of Max Bowskill and Thomas Lilley.
Phoebe Clarke won the female 5k with Mia Bartlett in second and third place taken by Katelyn Wells.
In the 10k main event AVR athlete Tim Lenton retained his title and was followed home by Kevin Hawker and Ian Stewart.
Jayne Alison was the ladies 10k victor followed by AVR’s Eleanor Wood and Clare Hansford. Congratulations to race director Katherine Reed and the Beer School PTFA for a great event that has raised over £1,000 and they were keen to thanks the local farmers for allowing the run across their land, in particular Rick Dormer and Robert Reed.
